YEAR 11 GCSE RESULTS 2019

Once again, the wonderful students of Bridgwater College Academy have achieved outstanding results. This summer, Year 11 sat the new ‘tougher’ GCSEs, they are reported as a numerical grade from 1 to 9. The students have done fantastically well and should be justifiably proud of their results. The team at Bridgwater College Academy would like to take this opportunity to thank parents/carers who, with us, have worked hard to ensure that the students of Bridgwater College Academy achieve success.

As mentioned above, the old grade system of A* - G has now been replaced by a numerical system of grades 9 - 1. Grade 9 has previously been described by DFE as an A** equivalent; this grade is only achieved by the top 1-4% of students nationally and a grade 8 is equivalent to an A* which is only achieved by approximately 15% of students nationally. At Bridgwater College Academy 16 students achieved 29 grade 9/8s between them.

Please see the table below for a summary of our headline figures. The summary doesn’t include our Progress 8 score, this is the main measure of success for schools at GCSE but this measure is not confirmed until all the national data is published, we are once again hopeful that we will achieve a score of above the national average.
